My name is Rebecca Elkins. I couldn't find Dave's email, so I am writing to you as a comment instead. I have a daughter Katie Elkins, who just very recently was deployed to Afghanistan for her second tour. I have information that she will be at FOB KKC. When I use this key search word "KKC" it brought Dave's blog site up. I am just really wanting to know more about what KKC stands for, where it is exactly other than south of Sharana, how long it's been up, what the facilities there are like for her unit. Katie actually was recruited to help some little Afghanistan girls (Gate Children) get cleaned up from gum & lice in their hair while she was in Kandahar (I believe) Well anyways, just a worried mother that can't find any good maps online, any detailed info. from anywhere . . . except Dave's blog! If you could get some details of the FOB KKC, I would greatly appreciate it. I found Dave's Journal very interesting, though I scanned much of if for keywords I became connected or drawn to it in some way! I myself grew up in Kansas & a Sunflower girl with much family still there, we moved to Colorado in 1993. Sorry for taking up alot of your time, it's just hard to wait for a satelite phone call from Katie on her Army travels
{A Co 864th ECB (H) from Ft. Lewis, WA}. Feel the need to research it as much as we can, but this seems to have it's limitations. Just really appreciate if someone could get this along to Pastor Dave Fulton / St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wichita. Thank you for all your time!
